Hidden Mickeys aren’t just in Disneyland or Walt Disney World! You can find them all around in nature! This guide to hidden Mickeys in your neighborhood can help you find them! This idea came when I first spotted a hidden Mickey in the road pavement while walking. Since then, I’ve started seeing them everywhere in nature! Here are my six best tips for finding them.
Note: As a reminder, remember to respect others’ properties and only go on them with permission.
1. Look for objects repeated in large numbers.
Are there several flowers in a patch, a rock wall, or a collection of pebbles? With large numbers of the same object together, you’re likely to find a few that form the classic Mickey ears!
--
2. Look from different angles.
Anytime you see three round-ish objects similar in appearance, try walking around them in a circle. Crouch low. Get on your tippy-toes. How can you move that brings the three objects closer together?
See how these three bushes aren’t planted close together? I was able to form them into a hidden Mickey just by moving in front of one bush and crouching low to the ground!

3. Don’t expect perfection.
Nature-based hidden Mickeys aren’t going to be as perfect as the ones placed in Disney rides. But that’s okay. The fun of a hidden-Mickey nature walk is to see all of the hidden Mickeys you can find—even if some are more of a stretch than others. Let your family be excited for anything close to a hidden Mickey that they find!

4. Look at man-made objects, too.
You’ll find several hidden Mickeys in non-nature items as well. I spotted this hidden Mickey on our front-door wreath.

5. Think outside the [box] circles.
Rather than focusing only on round objects, see if you can find the classic head and ear pattern in other shapes. When you think abstract, even these sprinklers can form a sort of hidden Mickey!

6. Make your own!
Have fun making your own hidden Mickey shapes for others to find! If you spot lots of tree blossoms on the ground, create a hidden Mickey! Or form a Mickey shape in your flower beds using small rocks. I know someone who even planted their flowers in the shape of a Mickey head!
