How to Play
1. Gather 4 rubber balls and 8 soccer cones. Cut out the 60 Easy Obstacle Course Challenge strips and place them in a jar or bucket.
2. Arrange the eight cones in two lines of four. Choose an obstacle course challenge strip.
3. Line up two people at each starting cone and have them race to complete all three challenges from the challenge strips. If your challenge action is in one spot, such as throwing a ball in the air and catching it, run to the next cone after finishing it.
If you have more than two players, split into two teams and create a relay race where a new teammate starts the challenge as soon as another one finishes it.
This obstacle course activity provides a great opportunity to talk about optimism. During play, family members likely did not let themselves get down about a challenge; instead, they likely kept pushing through because they kept their eyes on the finish line. Is there anything you're going through where maintaining a positive focus and an eye on the finish line can help the process be more enjoyable?
Why This Matters
These easy obstacle course challenges are a great way to encourage active play or exercise.
