Turn a Disney movie night on Disney+ into quality family time with these four easy and fun activities for an Onward party! Try crashing into toilet-paper-roll “boulders” with a Hot Wheels van/car, playing the “Mismatched Socks” brain-booster family game twist on Memory, recording what three questions you’d ask anyone living or dead if you could (with free printable), and creating a wizard’s staff/wand from skewer sticks and hot glue! Details below!

1. Knock the “Boulders” from the Mountainside
In the movie, Barley launches his van to bring the boulders crashing down so he and Ian can escape. Re-create that scene by creating toilet-paper-roll “boulders” on a mountainside and then launching a Hot Wheels car along a track to make the boulders crash down! No Hot Wheels car or track? Tip: Protect any furniture with pillows before launching the cars!
No problem! Just use the top of a box (prop it up) and a bouncy ball or Ping-Pong ball.

2. “Mismatched Socks” Printable Game
Ian loved learning that his dad wore mismatched socks! Celebrate that love with our “Mismatched Socks” printable game where, unlike Memory games where you look for matching pairs, you want to find pairs that share absolutely nothing in common! When you get two socks with different colors and patterns, you get to keep them! Download and print the “Mismatched Socks” reverse-memory game.

4. Make Your Own Magic Wizard’s Staff!
Turn a skewer stick into a magic wizard’s staff! Here’s how to make your magic staff/wand!
Hot-glue a marble (aka, “phoenix gem”) to the end of a skewer stick (cut any sharp ends off the stick if needed). Spiral hot glue around the skewer stick, and add three glue lines around the marble to help hold it in place (and to match the look of the Onward staff). Paint the hot glue and skewer stick gold!
